With the 2nd half of the year fast approaching-we are gearing up for a strong Summer and Autumn. This year for us has been about partnering with other groups to create different unique experiences. Whether that be workshops, shows or Poetry Projects.

10 Midlands Poets Engage in Region Wide Project
Last Month's show saw us collab with 'Tell it to the Music' another fantastic Poetry night in Birmingham, where we had 3 Headliners and 10 Open Micers smash their performances. Alongside giveaways and announcements, this was a night not to miss or forget.

EMPOWER 10
It was great having Mica Gray AKA Mica Montana lead our 2nd workshop this past weekend entitled 'Journeying Through Poetry' with 1 attendee brought to (happy) tears and a whole group satisfied.
Our 1st workshop went down a treat! Hosted and delivered by Naomi Black aka @GrowingNai at Eastside Projects, Digbeth. This was entitled 'Journeying through Poetry' and each of our guests went through a holistic and enriching experience. We had a dozen attendees from the local community who each left amazing feedback on their experience. Look out for our next workshop on April 22nd :)
Fresh off of our Birthday event, we head into our first Empower of 2023 with two new first time headliners. Nathan AKA 'Virtual Scribe' who by his own admission is ' a poet, performer, educator and writing mentor based in Birmingham.' As well as Jaleesa who in her words 'is a rising poet from Nottingham who uses her words to speak love and life to others. Her poetry is a real reflection of her lived experiences and she has already performed to audiences in Northampton, Nottingham and Birmingham' Both have been working the local circuit over the past 12 months, and January 26 will present both headliner's first ever time headlining at The Night Owl. 2023 will also see the introduction of 'Well-being Workshops' in the community, which will take place in Digbeth also. This will be facilitated by local creatives in the community, to the community. Watch this space!!
